Angel Reese Responds to Marriage Proposal at WNBA Finals
Atlanta Dream star Angel Reese humorously rejected a marriage proposal from a fan during Game 3 of the WNBA Finals.
Angel Reese, a key player for the Atlanta Dream, responded to a male fan who held up a sign asking for her hand in marriage during Game 3 of the WNBA Finals. The Dream secured a decisive 97-71 victory over the Golden State Valkyries on Wednesday, taking a 2-1 lead in the series.
The viral moment occurred amidst a large and energetic crowd at State Farm Arena. A TikTok creator, @tikibeen1, shared a clip of the game which featured a fan's sign reading: 'Angel will you marry me?'.
While Reese could not see the sign from the court, the video eventually reached her, prompting a reply in the comments. She wrote, 'Not in this lifetime but i have some fine friendsssss.'
Reese is currently in a relationship with NBA player Wendell Carter Jr. of the Orlando Magic. Carter Jr. recently spoke about supporting Reese during his offseason, stating, 'It's been a great summer. A lot of hard work, a lot of relaxation, and a lot of support for my girl.'
During Game 3, Reese contributed significantly to the Dream's win with 21 points, 12 rebounds, and three steals, marking her third consecutive double-double in the finals. The team's successful run has generated considerable excitement in Atlanta.
Addressing her newfound status in the city, Reese commented in a postgame press conference, 'I've only been here six months, so I don't know how y'all can give me that yet.' She added, 'My goal was to come to Atlanta and win a championship. And I think you become one of the greats and you come one of the best when you can win and impact winning. And that's all I wanted to do coming here. Everything else really doesn't matter to me.'
