Angel Reese Leads Dream to Commanding Game 3 Victory in WNBA Finals
The Atlanta Dream rookie delivered a dominant performance, bringing her team within two wins of a championship.
Angel Reese powered the Atlanta Dream to a decisive 97-71 victory over the Golden State Valkyries in Game 3 of the WNBA Finals on Wednesday night, placing the Dream just two wins away from their first league championship.
Reese recorded 21 points and 12 rebounds in the contest, a performance that drew an emphatic reaction from her coach, Kim Mulkey, who was seen celebrating her player's efforts throughout the game. Following the blowout win, Reese and Mulkey shared a moment on the court.
"Her words, I can’t share,” Reese said of her exchange with Mulkey. “But she just kept telling me to just go get it, go get it, don’t stop and just two more. I won a championship with her and I remember how that felt, and being able to do it again with this group is going to feel even more special.”
Reese's acquisition by the Dream, reportedly for two draft picks, is being hailed as a significant strategic move. Her impact in the Finals has been a focal point, as the team now looks to close out the series.
