Angel Reese, forward for the Atlanta Dream, has announced a six-month hiatus from her podcast, "Unapologetically Angel." The decision comes after the Dream's Game 7 loss in the WNBA Finals to the Golden State Valkyries. Reese shared on social media that she needs the offseason to focus on herself, including rest, weightlifting, brand building, and finding "peace."

Reese plans to spend her break in Florida with her boyfriend, Orlando Magic center Wendell Carter Jr. The hiatus follows a challenging end to the season for the Dream, who reached the finals for the first time since 2013 but ultimately fell short.

In the deciding Game 7, Reese scored eight points on 3-for-7 shooting from the field, while also recording 12 rebounds and four turnovers. Throughout the seven-game series, she committed 27 turnovers, setting a WNBA Finals record. Earlier in her podcast, Reese had discussed her WNBA salary in relation to her living expenses and had been critical of some fans of Caitlin Clark.

The break from her podcast offers a respite from her public commentary. The Atlanta Dream organization may also be looking for improved ball security from Reese in the future. She has stated her intention to return to podcasting after her six-month break.
