The Philadelphia 76ers have agreed to terms with guard Anfernee Simons on a two-year contract, according to ESPN's Shams Charania. This move follows the team's earlier acquisition of Jaylen Brown in a trade with the Boston Celtics.

The deal is reportedly worth $12.3 million, with the second year of the contract featuring a player option. Simons, 27, had also drawn interest from the Dallas Mavericks, Golden State Warriors, and Miami Heat before committing to Philadelphia.

Simons is expected to bolster the 76ers' scoring, particularly off the bench. In the 2025-26 season, he ranked sixth in the NBA with 130 three-pointers made as a reserve. He began that season with the Celtics, averaging 14.2 points and shooting nearly 40 percent from beyond the arc before being traded to the Chicago Bulls at the trade deadline.

Upon joining the Bulls, Simons entered their starting lineup. However, his season was cut short after just six games due to a left ulnar styloid fracture in his left wrist, which ended his season. Over his eight-year NBA career, he has averaged 14.3 points last season and 18.8 points over the past five campaigns, playing for the Portland Trail Blazers, Celtics, and Bulls.

The 76ers have been active in free agency since their Eastern Conference semifinals sweep by the New York Knicks. In addition to the trade for Brown, which involved sending Paul George to Boston, Philadelphia has also agreed to deals with Dean Wade and Ariel Hukporti. The team has also reportedly expressed interest in LeBron James, who is leaving the Los Angeles Lakers.

Reports indicate the 76ers are attempting to pitch James, alongside the Warriors, Cavaliers, and Heat. This period has seen significant movement in the Eastern Conference, with Giannis Antetokounmpo joining the Miami Heat and Kawhi Leonard returning to the Toronto Raptors, leading to commentary about the intensity of the current offseason.
