Pro Bowl offensive lineman Andrus Peat announced his retirement from the NFL on Friday, concluding an 11-season career. Peat, 32, shared his decision via a social media post, expressing gratitude for his time in the league and reflecting on the lessons learned.

"11 years in the league, I gave it all I had. I may be walking away from football, but not from the lessons it taught me," Peat wrote on Instagram. "Thank you to my coaches, teammates, and especially my brothers in the trenches. I’m grateful beyond words that I was able to live out this dream."

Peat was originally selected by the New Orleans Saints with the No. 13 overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft out of Stanford. He spent his first nine seasons with the Saints, primarily as their starting left guard. During his tenure with New Orleans, Peat earned three consecutive Pro Bowl selections from 2018 to 2020 and was a key contributor to an offensive line that helped the team win four consecutive NFC South titles between 2017 and 2020.

Following the 2023 season, Peat joined the Las Vegas Raiders, providing veteran depth on the offensive line. He appeared in 15 games for the Raiders, starting one. He then moved to the Pittsburgh Steelers for his final season, playing in six games and starting three.

Peat's wife, Ashley, commented on his retirement post, expressing pride and appreciation for his sacrifices and hard work over the years. Peat concluded his post by stating, "On to the next chapter with my wife and sons. All glory to God!"
