Andre Drummond Confident in Ability to Fill Mitchell Robinson's Role for Knicks

Andre Drummond believes his extensive experience makes him well-suited to replace the injured Mitchell Robinson in the New York Knicks' lineup. Drummond, who has played 967 regular-season games and 28 playoff games in his NBA career, highlighted his rebounding prowess and locker room presence as key assets he brings to the team.
"I’m able to rebound the ball at a high clip, still," Drummond stated. "And I’m a very good locker room guy."
The 33-year-old center, a native of Mount Vernon, New York, brings a decorated resume to the Knicks. He has been selected to two All-Star teams and has led the league in rebounds four times and offensive rebounds seven times. Notably, he was named to the All-NBA third team, an honor achieved by just over half a percent of players who have appeared in at least one NBA game since 1946.
Drummond suggested that his veteran status means he will not be intimidated by the prospect of filling the shoes of the popular Mitchell Robinson. "He is not going to fear filling Mitch Robinson’s size 15s. He is not going to worry about filling Mitch’s old No. 23 jersey. He is not going to cower at replacing an uberpopular piece of perhaps the most popular New York sports club of a generation," the New York Post reported.
Drummond's arrival comes as the Knicks navigate the absence of Robinson, a key player for the team. The veteran's confidence stems from his proven track record in the league, aiming to provide stability and strong performance in the paint for New York.
