Amy Hunt secured her third gold medal at the European Athletics Championships, positioning herself for a potential historic quadruple. Teammate Dina Asher-Smith also achieved a significant milestone, becoming one of the most decorated athletes in the championship's history as Great Britain excelled in the 4x100m relay finals.

Hunt, 24, added to her previous victories in the 100m and 200m by anchoring the women's 4x100m relay team to gold. She is now set to compete in the mixed 4x100m relay, aiming to become the first athlete to win four medals in a single edition of the event.

In the same competition, Asher-Smith, 30, earned her seventh gold medal, exactly 10 years after her first. This victory matches the record gold medal tally held by Norway's Jakob Ingebrigtsen and Croatia's Sandra Elkasevic. Following her 200m bronze medal win earlier in the week, Asher-Smith also equaled Polish sprinter Irena Szewinska's record of 10 overall medals at the championships.

The women's 4x100m relay victory for Great Britain was a dominant performance, with Imani-Lara Lansiquot and student midwife Success Eduan also part of the quartet. They crossed the finish line in 42.05 seconds, more than a second ahead of second-placed Switzerland.

Shortly before the women's race, the men's 4x100m relay team also secured a gold medal. Romell Glave, the 100m gold medalist, ran a strong final leg to bring his team home in 38.45 seconds.
