Amanda Serrano defended her WBA and WBO featherweight titles Friday night, earning her 50th career victory by majority decision against Argentina's Lucrecia Manzur. The fight, held in Temecula, California, marked the first time a world championship boxing match was streamed live on TikTok, attracting 3.4 million total views.
Serrano was challenged throughout the 12 two-minute rounds but ultimately secured the win with judges scoring the bout 114-114, 116-112, and 116-112 in her favor. Manzur, 27, troubled the 37-year-old champion with early pressure from her right hand, but Serrano took control from the ninth round onward.
"I am so happy and honoured," Serrano said after the fight. "That was the first championship main event fight on TikTok guys, super excited, super honoured." She acknowledged Manzur's toughness and hunger, noting the age difference between them.
While Serrano did not achieve the 33rd knockout needed to break the women's record, remaining at 32 knockouts, she expressed satisfaction with her performance and the historic nature of the broadcast. Serrano's previous fights have also garnered large audiences, including her bouts with Katie Taylor, which drew millions on Netflix.
The unified champion plans to stage her farewell fight later this year or in early 2027, aiming to achieve her 33rd stoppage and eclipse Christy Martin's record. This final bout is anticipated to take place in Puerto Rico.
