Amanda Serrano Announces 'The Last Walk' in Puerto Rico for Retirement Fight
World featherweight champion Amanda Serrano will have her final professional boxing match on January 9th in her home country.
World featherweight champion Amanda Serrano has announced her retirement fight, dubbed 'The Last Walk,' scheduled for January 9 in Puerto Rico. Serrano, considered one of the greatest boxers of all time, will face Skye Falzon in her home country.
"Boxing has been my life, and I never could have imagined the journey it would take me and my family on," Serrano stated. "To close my career at home in Puerto Rico, in front of the people who have supported me from the beginning, means everything. On Saturday, January 9, I'm going to give the fans one final night to remember."
Serrano, alongside Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), co-founded by Jake Paul, has been instrumental in elevating women's boxing. She expressed pride in her accomplishments, including headlining Madison Square Garden and opening doors for future generations of female fighters. Serrano also acknowledged MVP co-founder Nakisa Bidarian for their belief in her and women's boxing.
"Nakisa, Jake and MVP believed in me and in women's boxing, and together we've helped change what's possible for women in this sport," Serrano said. "We've fought for respect, equal opportunities, fair pay, and the choice to compete under the same rules as men. There's still more work to do, and I'll continue fighting for the next generation long after I hang up my gloves."
Paul and Bidarian of MVP praised Serrano, calling her "the MOAT. The Most Of All Time. The most accomplished female boxer of all time, the most watched, the most paid, and one of the most influential athletes this sport has ever seen." They highlighted MVP's commitment to providing a platform for female fighters to receive recognition and fair compensation, a vision Serrano has helped build.
"Amanda has been the foundation of that vision, and her success has helped change the entire landscape of women's boxing," Paul and Bidarian added. "Together, we've shattered records, delivered some of the biggest events in combat sports history and proven that women's boxing belongs on the world's biggest stages."
Serrano's fight against Katie Taylor on July 11, 2025, gained significant worldwide popularity, serving as the co-main event for Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson. Though Serrano lost all three bouts to Taylor by decision, these fights were often main events at sold-out venues like Madison Square Garden.
Serrano's professional record stands at 50-4-1. Her upcoming bout in Puerto Rico will be her sixth professional fight in the country and her second at the Coliseo. The event will be supported by DAZN, which has a history of backing significant women's boxing events.
