Allen's Overtime Heroics Lead Bills Past Rams in Thriller
Josh Allen secured his first career overtime win as the Buffalo Bills edged the Los Angeles Rams 37-34 in a game marked by offensive firepower and special teams miscues.

Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills overcame a late deficit and secured a dramatic 37-34 overtime victory against Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams on Monday night. The win marked Allen's first career overtime victory in eight previous attempts, improving the Bills' season record to 4-1.
The Rams, now 2-3, struggled to find consistency despite Stafford's strong performance, which included 383 passing yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions.
Allen Carries the Load
Despite the absence of top wide receivers, including an injured DJ Moore and Joshua Palmer, Allen put the Bills' offense on his shoulders. He amassed 121 rushing yards and a touchdown on the ground, complementing 210 passing yards. Allen's back-to-back 32-yard runs late in the game were instrumental in setting up the game-winning field goal.
Running back James Cook also contributed significantly to Buffalo's ground game, tallying 111 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 25 carries.
Special Teams Woes and Penalties Plague Both Sides
The matchup, anticipated as a Super Bowl preview, was characterized by sloppiness, with the two teams combining for 24 penalties. Both kickers missed opportunities, and the Rams' special teams unit committed several game-changing errors.
Kicker Harrison Mevis missed a 48-yard game-winning attempt in overtime, which was blocked. He had also missed a 50-yard attempt earlier, and the Rams surrendered a 70-yard kickoff return for a touchdown on the opening play. Mevis's struggles continue, having now missed four of his nine field goal attempts this season.
The Bills also had their share of mistakes. Allen threw an interception for the third consecutive game, and kicker Tyler Bass missed an extra point. Buffalo committed 13 penalties throughout the contest.
Nacua Shines for Rams
Rookie Puka Nacua had a standout performance for the Rams, setting career highs with 17 receptions for 138 yards and a touchdown on 21 targets. He was utilized in various ways by head coach Sean McVay, including jet sweeps and downfield passes.
However, a critical decision saw the Rams run the ball for no gain on a third-and-5 in overtime, leading to the aforementioned blocked field goal. The Rams' rushing attack was largely ineffective, gaining just 77 yards total, with Kyren Williams leading the team with 49 yards.
The Rams will look to rebound against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, while the Bills will travel to face the Las Vegas Raiders.
