AEW Wrestler PAC Dies at 40 Hours After Live Performance
The English-born performer, whose real name was Benjamin Satterley, competed in a national championship match and appeared in the main event on Saturday before his passing was confirmed by AEW.
The professional wrestling community is mourning the death of AEW star PAC, who passed away at the age of 40. His death was confirmed by All Elite Wrestling just hours after he performed in multiple matches at a live pay-per-view event in Chicago on Saturday.
Real name Benjamin Satterley, the English-born wrestler, also known globally as Adrian Neville during his WWE tenure, competed against Andrade El Idolo for the AEW National Championship on HBO Max. He lost the match and subsequently shook his opponent's hand. Satterley also made an appearance during the main event, a World Championship match between Jon Moxley and Will Ospreay.
AEW released a statement announcing the news, stating: "All Elite Wrestling is saddened to announce the passing of Benjamin Satterley, aka Pac. A native of Newcastle upon Tyne, England, Satterley began his wrestling career in 2004 and went on to perform for wrestling organizations all over the world, captivating fans with innovative high-flying moves and incredible in-ring ability. Pac signed with All Elite Wrestling in 2019 and held multiple AEW Championships and competed in some of the most memorable matches in AEW history. Our condolences go out to Satterley's family, friends and fans."
Satterley, who hailed from Newcastle upon Tyne, gained international recognition for his high-flying maneuvers, earning him the moniker "The Man That Gravity Forgot." He performed in various promotions worldwide, including New Japan Pro-Wrestling and Mexico's Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre, before joining AEW in 2019.
During his time with AEW, Satterley won the All-Atlantic Championship in 2022 and was a prominent member of the "Death Riders" stable alongside Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta.
News of his passing prompted widespread tributes from fellow wrestlers and fans who expressed shock and disbelief at the sudden loss of the performer, who was still in his prime. Retired wrestler and WWE executive Adam Pearce shared his condolences, describing Satterley as an "incredible performer" and recalling his "passion" and "ability."
