AEW Unveils "Clockwork Carnage" Match for WrestleDream; Ospreay's Title on the Line

All Elite Wrestling (AEW) has announced a new match type, "Clockwork Carnage," which will debut at the upcoming WrestleDream event on October 17. The innovative eight-wrestler format will also serve as the stage for Will Ospreay to defend his AEW World Championship.

Clockwork Carnage will begin with two wrestlers starting the match. Every three minutes, another competitor will enter the bout until all eight participants are in the ring. Eliminations will occur via pinfall or submission. Once all eight wrestlers have entered, a 15-minute scoring period will commence. During this time, each pinfall or submission will count as one fall. The wrestler with the most falls when the time expires will be declared the winner.

Will Ospreay, who won the AEW World Championship from Kenny Omega at All In in August, is scheduled to defend the title in this new match. However, he must first face Kazuchika Okada in a title defense at Grand Slam France on Tuesday.

Additionally, Jack Perry and Samoa Joe will compete to determine who else earns a spot in the Clockwork Carnage match. Joe recently returned to AEW programming after a hiatus.

WrestleDream is scheduled to take place at the Addition Financial Arena in Orlando, Florida.
