ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter is nearing a long-term contract extension with the network, according to a report from Front Office Sports. The deal is expected to extend his tenure with ESPN for several years, reaching into the 2030s.

Financial terms of the potential agreement have not yet been disclosed. Schefter's previous contract, reported in 2022, was valued at approximately $9 million per year.

Schefter, 59, has recently addressed speculation about his retirement, dismissing the possibility in an April appearance on his podcast. "I know a lot has been made about my age this week and how I’m retiring, which by the way, no f–king chance about that if you don’t mind my language," he stated.

This impending extension would keep Schefter working alongside fellow insider Ian Rapoport, who also recently signed a multi-year contract extension with ESPN in April. Rapoport joined ESPN when the network acquired NFL Network.

Schefter has been a prominent figure at ESPN since joining in 2009, establishing himself as a primary source for NFL news and a key contributor to programs such as NFL Countdown during the football season.
