Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has publicly addressed a mistake made by wide receiver Roman Wilson during a practice session, issuing a warning about the consequences of repeated errors. Rodgers called out Wilson for a "repeat mistake" that resulted in an interception during practice, stating it was a valuable learning experience.

"That’s a good learning experience because I don’t think he’s going to do that again," Rodgers told reporters. "But he did the same thing early in training camp, and we said, ‘Hey, on that under route you have to keep coming.’"

Wilson, who is expected to be the Steelers' starting slot receiver alongside DK Metcalf and Michael Pittman Jr., could face competition from rookie Germie Bernard if such errors persist. Bernard was initially listed at the slot receiver position before Wilson appeared to secure the role.

Despite the public admonishment, Rodgers expressed confidence in Wilson's overall performance. "Roman is a great kid who has had a fantastic camp," Rodgers said. "I have the utmost confidence in him. He’s going to have to play a big role for us. Mistakes are going to happen; that’s a great one to happen in practice. He’s gotten a lot better, and I’m really proud of him."

Rodgers, 42, is known for his demanding approach with younger players. Former Steelers running back Kaleb Johnson corroborated this, describing Rodgers as "very [hard on younger players]." Johnson was traded to the Green Bay Packers this week after struggling to establish a role on the Steelers' offense.

Wilson recorded 12 receptions for 166 yards and two touchdowns in his sophomore season last year. The Steelers are scheduled to open their season at home against the Atlanta Falcons on September 13.
