Aaron Judge Out for Yankees' Wild Card Series with Calf Injury
The star slugger has been sidelined since Sept. 16 and will miss the opening playoff round against the Boston Red Sox.
Aaron Judge will not be included on the New York Yankees' roster for their upcoming Wild Card series against the Boston Red Sox, which is scheduled to begin Tuesday night. The Yankees announced the decision after Judge participated in batting practice on Monday, but was ultimately deemed not ready to compete.
Judge has been sidelined since September 16 with a strained right calf. He received a platelet-poor plasma injection on September 21 and is now focusing on being available for the subsequent round of the playoffs, should the Yankees advance.
This latest injury adds to an injury-plagued season for the 34-year-old outfielder, who was also sidelined from May 31 to September 8 with a fractured rib. He played in only seven games before sustaining the calf issue.
