Defensive tackle Aaron Donald is coming out of retirement at age 35 to rejoin the Los Angeles Rams, according to reports.
Donald, a former Super Bowl Champion and three-time Defensive Player of the Year, agreed to a one-year deal worth $20 million, with incentives that could push the total value to $30 million, his agent confirmed.
The Rams, already considered Super Bowl favorites, are adding Donald to a formidable defensive front that includes reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett. Donald's return had been rumored since the Rams acquired Garrett from the Cleveland Browns in a multi-player trade involving draft picks.
Donald had been seen at the Rams' training facility in recent weeks, though he had not been practicing with the team. His potential return fueled speculation, with ESPN's NFL insider Adam Schefter posting a graphic of Garrett alongside Donald in June with the caption, "Next in line in LA."
