The San Francisco 49ers may not be finished with their trade activity before the November 10 deadline, according to NFL insider Jordan Schultz. The team recently acquired defensive lineman DeForest Buckner from the Colts in a significant move.
Schultz stated on The Pivot Podcast that he believes the 49ers are still actively looking to acquire a wide receiver and a pass rusher. "I don’t think either team is done," Schultz said, referencing the 49ers and Bears, who also made a notable trade. "I think the 49ers are still looking for a receiver and a pass rusher. I wouldn’t rule out another move for either team."
While the 49ers have Christian McCaffrey at running back, the wide receiver position has been a point of need, exacerbated by season-ending injuries to Christian Kirk and Ricky Pearsall. Although Mike Evans is expected to return, along with De'Zhaun Stribling and Deebo Samuel, the team has faced considerable injury setbacks.
Schultz also mentioned potential trade targets, noting significant buzz around Khalil Mack for various teams. He also pointed to George Pickens of the Dallas Cowboys as a player generating curiosity. Pickens, currently playing on the franchise tag, has seen a reduced role this season compared to his Pro Bowl 2026 campaign. His statistics this year stand at 39 catches for over 500 yards and two touchdowns, a notable drop from his 93 catches for 1,429 yards and nine touchdowns last season.
The 49ers have reached the Super Bowl in recent years but have yet to secure a championship. Their continued activity in the trade market suggests a persistent effort to acquire the necessary pieces to contend for a Lombardi Trophy.
