Massive Metallic Object Found in Minnesota Cornfield Identified as Space Junk

A significant metallic object, believed to be space junk, was discovered in a western Minnesota cornfield last Wednesday. The 11-foot piece of debris was found by a farmer harvesting corn just outside Scott Township, according to the Stevens County Sheriff's Office.

Based on the growth of the corn underneath the object, the farmer estimates it had been in the field for at least six weeks before its discovery, KGW8 reported.

Local authorities have described the object as "presumably a space object" and noted that it bears serial numbers which could help investigators determine its origin and owner. Federal and state agents are collaborating to identify the owner of the metallic debris and arrange for its removal from the cornfield. Officials have stated that the object poses no danger to the public.
