Eight members of the Salford Astronomical Society, a volunteer group in England, reported witnessing two unusual aerial phenomena on October 7. The first sighting involved a V formation of six orange orbs traveling southwest, which witnesses estimated were about 500 feet overhead. Approximately 25 minutes later, a second formation appeared, this time a triangle of three white lights.

The witnesses described both formations as moving silently and at high speeds, with speeds estimated to exceed 500 mph. They noted that the phenomena did not resemble conventional aircraft.

The triangular formation was described as having lights positioned at equal distances, outlining an equilateral triangle, with an estimated size between 100 and 200 feet. This formation reportedly vanished "in the blink of an eye," a description suggesting a sudden loss of visibility rather than a gradual disappearance. The total duration of the sightings was not explicitly stated, but the description of the triangular formation's disappearance implies a very brief observation.

Following the encounters, the witnesses reportedly checked flight tracking information and military low-flying schedules for the area. According to their account, no conventional aircraft were scheduled or detected overhead at the times of the sightings. They also dismissed the possibility of drones due to the lack of sound and local drone activity plans.

The report was submitted to the National UFO Reporting Center on October 8 and subsequently published on October 13. While the report details the observations and the witnesses' attempts to find conventional explanations, it does not identify the specific witnesses or their qualifications beyond noting aviation expertise among the observers.
