A 51-year-old businesswoman has died after undergoing a lengthy cosmetic surgery procedure in Goiânia, Brazil, on August 12. Andreia Vieira Gaspar, originally from Brazil and living in Madrid, Spain, underwent an eight-hour "six-in-one" operation that included a facelift and neck liposuction, as well as the removal of excess skin and fat deposits from her eyelids and neck.

According to her sister, Djiane Vieira, Gaspar's tongue became so swollen after the surgery that she could not close her mouth. Her condition reportedly worsened, and doctors later diagnosed a bacterial infection. Attempts to resuscitate Gaspar were unsuccessful, and she passed away on August 12.

Vieira stated that the hospital where Gaspar was treated did not have an intensive care unit or an ambulance to transfer her to a facility that did. In response, the hospital told local outlet g1 that Gaspar "received immediate emergency care" and that her pre-operative evaluations were conducted externally.

The Public Ministry of Goiás has requested that the police investigate Gaspar's death. This incident follows the recent death of Brazilian influencer Marta Kelly, 33, who also died after undergoing cosmetic surgery. Kelly had a "three-in-one" procedure that included liposuction, breast implants, and a tummy tuck. She passed away on August 17, several days after being discharged and subsequently returning to the hospital with illness.
