Veteran broadcaster Trevor Nelson has announced he is taking a break from his BBC Radio 2 show and all work commitments to undergo further tests. The 62-year-old shared the news on Instagram on Friday, stating he is concentrating on getting better.
Nelson informed his followers that he has not been on his usual Radio 2 slot this week. He explained that after a routine check-up, he was advised to have follow-up tests, leading to his decision to take additional time off. "As I'm sure you can appreciate with health issues it's important to deal with facts and not speculate," he wrote. Nelson expressed his commitment to returning to full health and resuming his presenting and DJing duties.
The announcement follows Nelson's recent public appearance on Tuesday, where he received a special honor at the Television and Radio Industries Club Awards for his extensive career in broadcasting. Colleagues, including Melvin Odoom, Anita Rani, and Owain Wyn Evans, have offered their well-wishes and support to Nelson in the comments section of his announcement.
