Consumers in the UK have been warned to immediately stop using certain batches of Simple's Kind to Skin Micellar Cleansing Water due to fears of microbiological contamination that could lead to eye inflammation. The product recall affects 730ml bottles sold through budget retailers B&M, Home Bargains, and Savers.
The affected batch numbers are 613841 and 613941, identified by a barcode number 8720181894381. These specific batches were manufactured in Poland.
Product safety officials stated that the identified batches may be microbiologically contaminated, posing a risk of eye inflammation, which is characterized by redness or swelling of the eyes. The batch codes can be found on the bottom of the bottles.
Simple Skincare has confirmed that the implicated products have been removed from shelves. Customers in possession of the affected batches are advised to cease using the product immediately and can seek a refund from their place of purchase. Alternatively, customers can contact Simple's customer service helpline by emailing [email protected] or calling 0800 146 252. Proof of purchase is not required, though providing the affected batch code, if possible, is requested.
Simple has clarified that no other sizes of its Kind to Skin Micellar Cleansing Water or other 730ml bottles without the specified batch codes are part of this recall. The company has not specified the exact type of bacteria potentially present in the contaminated bottles. Individuals who believe their health has been affected are advised to consult a medical professional.
Micellar water is commonly used for removing makeup, as well as cleansing dirt and impurities from the skin and pores.
