Mikomi Hokina, a Belgian model and OnlyFans creator, has shared how a co-star's observation during an intimate photoshoot led to her early breast cancer diagnosis. Hokina, now 30, was in her 20s when the incident occurred.

During a session for sexually explicit content, a fellow creator noticed an unusual lump in Hokina's breast. The co-star urged Hokina to have it medically examined, a recommendation that ultimately proved life-saving.

"When she touched my boob, she noticed something in there," Hokina recounted. "I touched it and felt a little rocky bit inside, so I guess OnlyFans saved my life."

Hokina carries the BRCA1 gene, a genetic mutation that significantly increases the risk of developing breast and ovarian cancers. She had undergone genetic testing after her mother's death from cancer, which confirmed her elevated risk. Despite being aware of the possibility, she was reportedly skeptical about the likelihood of developing the disease.

Shortly before embarking on a trip to Thailand for content creation, Hokina received a call confirming her cancer diagnosis. Doctors advised her that the planned two-week trip would not be detrimental to her health, and she proceeded with her travel plans.

Upon returning, Hokina began chemotherapy, a process that led to significant hair loss. She described the experience as emotionally challenging, particularly the decision to shave her head due to patchy hair loss. "My hair is a very important part of me," she stated.

During her treatment, Hokina found an unexpected way to cope with hair loss by embracing cosplay. She recreated the character Saitama from "One-Punch Man," whose character is bald. This allowed her to rebuild confidence and explore a new facet of her identity.

Hokina also found solace in using dark humor to process her illness and even created a "nest" from her shed hair as an Easter decoration. She expressed a passion for embodying fictional characters, finding strength and relatability in both heroic and flawed personas.

While cosplay is a fulfilling passion project, Hokina noted that her primary income is generated through other content on OnlyFans. She described her work on the platform as transforming a hobby into a career, keeping her followers engaged.
