Michael Philips, a 38-year-old North Carolina man who claims to have the "world's smallest penis," is seeking public donations for a surgical procedure to increase its size. He has launched a GoFundMe campaign aiming to raise $22,000 for what he describes as micropenis enlargement surgery.

Philips stated on the crowdfunding platform that his penis measures 0.38 inches, a measurement that falls within the clinical definition of a micropenis. According to the Cleveland Clinic, a micropenis is defined as an "atypically small penis" measuring 3.67 inches or less, typically identified in infancy or early childhood.

He explained that his condition makes everyday tasks, such as using the bathroom without making a mess, extremely difficult, leading him to use pull-up diapers. Philips' doctor has advised this measure unless a procedure can improve his ability to urinate. He cited daily frustration, embarrassment, and a negative impact on his confidence and independence, particularly when traveling.

Personal Challenges

Philips shared that his condition has also significantly affected his personal relationships and self-esteem. He recounted a high school incident where a girl laughed at his anatomy, which deterred him from pursuing romantic relationships for a long time. While he has had a few sexual experiences, he stated he was unable to achieve penetration, leading him to lose interest in romance.

He noted that his story has been featured in the news and on television previously, which has raised awareness but also added to the emotional burden he carries.

Surgical Goals

The proposed surgery involves injecting semipermanent dermal filler into the penis. Philips acknowledged that this procedure will not cure his micropenis condition but believes it will significantly improve his daily life by eliminating the need for diapers and restoring a sense of normalcy and comfort. He is seeking additional support to cover the full cost of the procedure, which he referred to as an "endowment" fund. The GoFundMe campaign had raised over $9,000 of its $22,000 goal as of Friday morning. Information regarding the cost of such procedures indicates that filler injections can range from $11,000 to $20,000 for a full treatment course, potentially requiring multiple syringes depending on the desired size.
