Susan Harrison, 67, has found a way to manage her severe arthritis without resorting to painkillers or surgery, attributing her improvement to acupuncture.
Harrison was diagnosed with osteoarthritis in 2022 and experienced significant joint pain that made walking difficult, leading her to believe that hip and knee replacement surgeries were imminent. However, after pursuing drug-free therapy, she has been able to reduce her need for painkillers and has avoided the need for joint replacement operations.
Fast forward four years, Harrison can now navigate stairs with ease, enjoys daily walks, and rarely requires painkillers. She credits acupuncture as the solution to her chronic pain.
Studies have indicated the effectiveness of electro-acupuncture for arthritis. Research suggests that patients who received electro-acupuncture showed significantly better improvements in pain and stiffness scores compared to those who underwent a sham therapy.
