Danniella Westbrook recently showcased the progress of her facial reconstruction surgery, appearing in good spirits during a business lunch. The 52-year-old actress is midway through an 18-month treatment plan aimed at repairing facial damage, including a collapsed septum resulting from past drug use.
Westbrook's most recent procedure involved a hare lip reversal, a surgery she described as necessary because the lip had begun to pull upwards. Images shared earlier this month revealed stitches from an upper vascular flap procedure and lip augmentation. The overall goal of these treatments is to restore and enhance her facial features after significant reconstructive challenges.
She appeared at the lunch with Reiss Boyce, 35, a client of her talent agency, W1 Elite. Westbrook was dressed in a heart-print t-shirt and denim shorts, accessorized with a monogrammed mini suitcase and Vivienne Westwood flats. Boyce arrived with a matching bag, and the two were seen sharing coffees.
Westbrook has been open about her ongoing medical journey, documenting her progress on television. She revealed on Vanessa Feltz's Channel 5 show that she anticipates six more procedures over the next 18 months to fully repair her face. Earlier this year, she traveled to Dubai for a full face, neck, and brow lift, along with lip and nose reconstruction.
The actress also discussed upcoming surgeries, including the implantation of a metal cheekbone. She explained that osteoporosis has affected the bones on one side of her face, necessitating reconstruction. "So on this side of my face, I don't have any bone at all," she stated. "So they've got to rebuild all my bones. At the moment it's filler, but they've really got to do a metal bone. It's got to be put in there."
Westbrook shared that she has undergone numerous surgeries, with the current one being her sixth. She has previously undergone a facelift to realign her face and position her nose for further work. She estimates having approximately six more procedures to go, with surgeries occurring every two to three months.
She also addressed the online trolling she has received regarding her appearance, revealing hurtful comments, but also acknowledging significant support from others. Westbrook has chosen to limit her social media use to manage the impact of negativity.
Westbrook's reconstructive surgeries began with procedures at the Gargash Hospital in the UAE. She has spoken about how a facelift has significantly boosted her confidence. The extensive surgery is a crucial step in rebuilding her appearance after years of struggles. She has been treated by surgeon Dr. Parviz Sadigh, who has performed previous operations on her.
Westbrook's journey began after her career on "EastEnders" was terminated in 1996 due to her cocaine use. She has openly discussed how her addiction started in social settings, leading to significant personal and financial costs, estimating around £250,000 spent on drugs. She has previously suggested that "EastEnders" could offer more support to young actors entering the industry about the pressures and risks they may face.
