Coleen Rooney has revealed her dedication to reformer Pilates, a practice she began nearly 12 years ago to address lower back pain.

In a new photoshoot and interview for EE72 magazine, titled 'Why Fashion Loves Pilates,' Rooney, 40, discussed how the exercise has become a vital part of her life.

"I started reformer Pilates nearly 12 years ago," Rooney told the magazine. "I went to a physio because I was suffering with my lower back, which I thought was from pregnancy. The physio ran a Pilates studio, and that's how I got into it."

She described the mental benefits of the workout, noting that the hour spent on the equipment allows her to disconnect from daily stresses. "When I'm on that bed for an hour, I just switch off. You're not picking up your phone or thinking about what you're doing after that class," she explained. Rooney also emphasized the physical advantages, stating, "I've always had fitness in my life because my body needs it and benefits from stretching, especially as I'm getting older. Movement keeps you young."

Rooney, who has four sons, added that staying active helps her keep up with them. The feature also included presenter Maya Jama, who shared her positive experiences with Pilates. "Having a workout to look forward to, not one that you dread, is a great feeling," Jama commented. She also highlighted the social aspect, saying, "The community that comes with the class is also great. You leave thinking, 'Wow, I did something amazing for my body, and I also got to see people I really love.'"

Rooney's appearance in the magazine comes as her husband, Wayne Rooney, serves as a pundit for the BBC's World Cup coverage in the US. Wayne Rooney has also recently garnered attention for his healthier appearance and weight loss. The couple recently celebrated their 18th wedding anniversary with a trip to Marbella. They married in 2008 and have four sons: Kai, Klay, Kit, and Cass.
