Reality television personality Bethenny Frankel revealed that she received a significant misdiagnosis after seeking a second opinion from a medical community. Frankel, 55, described her confusion over the situation in a recent video update.
Frankel stated that she joined a medical collective that re-examines all aspects of a person's health, including labs, markers, and longevity. She emphasized that this service is not a superficial concierge practice but a legitimate organization that cross-references various health data. According to Frankel, this thorough review indicated she had been misdiagnosed with a "pretty major" condition. The exact ailment was not disclosed.
"I'm very confused because I was sort of operating with the idea that I do have this, and I don't want to throw anybody under the bus and try to do the right thing and it's very confusing," Frankel said, adding that she believes people should be more meticulous about their health decisions. "I just think there's nothing we should be more thorough about then our medical care, our health, and just think about it."
She urged her followers to be equally diligent, suggesting they create a notebook to document any suspected conditions, symptoms, or previous diagnoses. Frankel compared the level of detail people apply to other aspects of their lives, such as dining or shopping, to the thoroughness needed for personal health.
This health update comes less than a year after Frankel publicly shared her diagnosis of kidney disease. At the time, her doctor suggested the condition could be a result of a severe allergic reaction she experienced years prior that nearly proved fatal. Frankel had initially been diagnosed with stage two chronic kidney disease, which was later reclassified as stage 3a.
Despite her health challenges, Frankel has remained active. She appeared on the runway at the 2026 Sports Illustrated SI Swimsuit Runway Show and has publicly shared details about her personal life, including her relationship with Shane Campbell, a senior managing director at FTI Consulting.
