Actress Justene Alpert, known for her roles in "9-1-1" and "How I Met Your Mother," has revealed the devastating loss of her pregnancy last December. The 36-year-old shared on Instagram that she and her husband, Mason Trueblood, made the "nightmare" decision to terminate the pregnancy after doctors detected a rare genetic disorder in their unborn baby.

Alpert stated that the medical team highly recommended ending the pregnancy quickly, as they feared the baby would not survive to term. The couple had just begun sharing the news of their pregnancy with loved ones when they received the prognosis. "The specialist spoke to us not only about our baby's condition but the high risks that I would be subjected to as a woman my age," Alpert wrote in her statement.

She described the period leading up to the termination as a difficult time, where she and her husband attempted to cherish their remaining moments with their unborn son. "On December 22 my happiness was taken from me," she wrote, noting that December 29 marked the day they had to "to say goodbye to our son."

"It's the worst pain and many suffer silently out of fear of being judged or simply misunderstood," she explained.

Her unborn son was named Mads Mason Trueblood. Alpert expressed deep gratitude for her support system, including her husband, with whom she said her love grew stronger through the ordeal. She concluded her candid post with a message to her son: "I loved you then, I love you now and I will love you forever."
