Zendaya Enjoys Paris Shopping Spree After Fashion Week Etiquette Debate

Zendaya continued her style presence in Paris with a shopping trip on Thursday, following a period of online discussion regarding her behavior at a recent fashion week event.

Earlier in the week, the 30-year-old actress drew criticism for not standing to greet Brigitte Macron, the wife of French President Emmanuel Macron, during the Louis Vuitton show at Paris Fashion Week. Video footage showed Zendaya chatting with another guest before acknowledging Mrs. Macron, who approached her seated at the front row. Zendaya offered a smile and a handshake while remaining seated, leading to a debate on social media about proper etiquette.

Some social media users argued that basic manners dictate standing to greet anyone, especially a First Lady, while others defended Zendaya, suggesting she was caught off guard or that strict protocol is unnecessary at a fashion event. Commenters also noted that Zendaya did not stand when Bernard Arnault, the CEO of LVMH, who owns Louis Vuitton, greeted her shortly before Mrs. Macron's arrival.

Despite the online debate, Zendaya appeared unfazed as she was seen shopping with her assistant, Darnell Appling, at the French concept store Merci. The actress sported a chic ensemble featuring light-wash jeans, a white shirt, and a vintage 1999 Prada duster coat valued at approximately £2,000. Her accessories included a Louis Vuitton monogram clutch and her signature Maison Margiela Tabi wedge shoes.

Zendaya has previously worn custom Christian Louboutin x Maison Margiela Tabi stiletto pumps to the 2024 Met Gala, showcasing her affinity for the distinctive split-toe footwear.
