Willie Nelson and Neil Young are set to co-headline two East Coast concerts with special guest Ty Myers.
The performances are scheduled for September 22 at the Hartford Healthcare Amphitheater in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and September 24 at the TD Pavilion at Highmark Mann in Philadelphia. Two days following these shows, both artists will join other performers at Farm Aid, which is being held on September 26 at the Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater in Virginia Beach.
Other artists slated to perform at Farm Aid include John Mellencamp, Dave Matthews with Tim Reynolds, Margo Price, Nathaniel Rateliff, and the Turnpike Troubadours.
Prior to these joint appearances, Nelson is concluding his Outlaw Music Festival tour, which includes stops across the U.S. His schedule features three New York dates: August 28 at Jones Beach, August 29 at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts in Bethel, and August 30 at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center in Saratoga Springs. These Outlaw Music Festival shows will also feature The Avett Brothers, Sheryl Crow, Stephen Wilson Jr., Robert Randolph, and Don Was.
For Neil Young, these East Coast dates and Farm Aid represent his currently announced performances for the year. He is also releasing his 50th studio album, "Second Song," with The Chrome Hearts on September 18. The album's 11-minute lead single, also titled "Second Song," has been released.
Tickets for the Nelson and Young concerts will go on sale to the general public on Friday, August 21, at 10 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster. Pre-sale tickets are available on secondary market sites such as SeatGeek.
Ty Myers, a 19-year-old artist from Austin, Texas, will be joining Nelson and Young as a special guest. Myers has released several songs, including "Thought It Was Love," "Drinking Alone," and "Ends of the Earth."
In other music news, Willie Nelson released his 156th album, "Dream Chaser," on May 29. Neil Young's recent album, "Second Song," was preceded by its title track, an extended single released ahead of the album.
