Where Are the Stars of 'Fresh Meat' Now?

It has been 15 years since the popular Channel 4 comedy "Fresh Meat" debuted, following the comedic and often painful realities of university students sharing a house. Created by Sam Bain and Jesse Armstrong, the show ran for four seasons, launching the careers of several actors who have since gone on to achieve significant recognition.

Jack Whitehall, who played the posh JP, has become a globally recognized star. He hosted the Brit Awards and the Royal Variety Performance, starred in the BBC comedy "Bad Education" and its film adaptation, and broke into Hollywood with roles in "Jungle Cruise" and "Clifford the Big Red Dog." He also starred in Netflix's "Jack Whitehall: Travels with My Father" and welcomed his first child with Roxy Horner in 2023, marrying her in April 2024.

Kimberley Nixon, who played Josie, had previous roles in films like "Wild Child" and "Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging." Post-"Fresh Meat," she appeared in "Ordinary Lies," "Death in Paradise," and the ITV drama "The Salisbury Poisonings." Nixon recently shared an update about her ongoing battle with a severe flare-up of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), ADHD, and autism, which has impacted her mobility. She has been open about her diagnosis and the challenges of managing her mental health, particularly following the traumatic birth of her son.

Greg McHugh, who played Scottish geology student Howard, reunited with Jack Whitehall in the "Bad Education" Christmas special. He has since played Eddie Scott in "The A Word," starred in BBC's "Guilt," and appeared in the crime drama series "Shetland."

Joe Thomas, already known for his role as Simon in "The Inbetweeners," played Kingsley in "Fresh Meat." He later worked with "Inbetweeners" co-star Simon Bird on the Sky comedy "Chickens." His filmography includes "Straw Donkey," "Scottish Mussel," "The Darkest Universe," and "The Festival." Thomas is engaged to Hannah Tointon, whom he met when she played his girlfriend in "The Inbetweeners."

Gemma Chan, who was in the first series as Ruth, has enjoyed considerable success in Hollywood. She starred in "Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them," "Crazy Rich Asians," and Marvel films. Her recent work includes "The Creator," "The Boy and the Heron," and "Don't Worry Darling." Chan was also featured on the cover of Meghan Markle's guest-edited September 2019 issue of British Vogue. She previously dated Jack Whitehall; since 2020, she has been in a relationship with actor Dominic Cooper.

Robert Webb, who played lecturer Dan in the first two series, continued his role as Jeremy in "Peep Show" through its ninth season. His other TV credits include "Ambassadors," "National Treasure," "Cold Feet," and "Back." In 2019, Webb participated in "Strictly Come Dancing" but withdrew due to health issues. He underwent life-saving heart surgery after doctors discovered a heart murmur caused by mitral valve collapse, an experience that led him to quit drinking and smoking. He has been married to Abbie Burdess since 2006, and they have two daughters.
