Wayne Rooney has undergone a significant transformation, including weight loss and cosmetic procedures, in preparation for his appearance on the reality television show 'I'm A Celebrity'. The former footballer, 41, has shed a noticeable amount of weight through lifestyle changes and has also had a nose job and Invisalign treatment.
Rooney has attributed his weight loss to a revamped diet and increased time in the gym, refuting rumors of using weight loss injections. He told the Daily Mail that he has worked hard on his fitness, stating, "I feel great, I haven't drank for a while. I just wanted to feel healthier and be healthier so I've changed my eating habits and training." He added that he has found more balance in his life since pivoting from football management to punditry, podcasting, and television work.
The decision for a nose job was reportedly encouraged by his wife, Coleen, to address snoring issues and difficulty breathing through one nostril due to a break from his playing days. Rooney described the recovery as "a little bit uncomfortable" but expressed eagerness for the removal of internal tubes.
Rooney is set to follow in the footsteps of his wife, Coleen, who competed on 'I'm A Celebrity' in 2024 and finished as runner-up. He has already emerged as an early favorite to win the current season, with odds placing him ahead of other contestants.
The show is scheduled to begin on November 16 at 9 p.m. on ITV. Reports suggest Rooney has secured the largest fee in the show's 24-year history, surpassing the reported £1.5 million his wife earned.
