Victoria's Secret Show Backstage Buzz Amid Model Controversy
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Iris Law prepare for the runway while Romee Strijd expresses disappointment over being cut from the show.
Models Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Iris Law were seen backstage preparing for the Victoria's Secret fashion show in Los Angeles. Huntington-Whiteley, 39, was having her hair and makeup done ahead of walking the catwalk, while 25-year-old Law appeared in good spirits.
Other models expected to walk include Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Candice Swanepoel, Elsa Hosk, and Barbara Palvin.
The event faced controversy this week when model Romee Strijd revealed tearfully on TikTok that she had been cut from the show with only a week's notice. Strijd, who had previously walked in the show from 2014 to 2018, stated that she was informed she was not a "good fit" for the show this year after attending a casting call in September.
Strijd explained that she had been in a state of uncertainty for weeks, continuing to train for the show even after having two children, as she felt it was "the right timing" to participate again. She expressed frustration over the perceived lack of transparency from her agency and the casting team.
"The whole story doesn't sum up, which makes me feel even more horrible than not getting the show," Strijd said in a video. "I don't feel supported by my agency. I don't feel like I have the straight story."
Later, Strijd confirmed that it was a definite "no" for her participation. Another model, Frida Aasen, commented on Strijd's video, sharing that she also did not make the cut after attending the casting. Strijd indicated that the experience might lead her to not cast for the show in the future due to how the process was handled.
