Victoria Beckham Receives Flowers from David After Katherine Ryan's 'Stupid Joke' Apology

Victoria Beckham shared a photo of a large bouquet of flowers from her husband, David Beckham, following an apology from comedian Katherine Ryan. The gesture of support came after Ryan apologized for what she described as a "stupid joke" made on the BBC program "Have I Got News For You."

The BBC's Executive Complaints Unit (ECU) has upheld complaints regarding a remark made by Ryan on the satirical show in November 2025. The program had been discussing an incident where David Beckham allegedly used an offensive term in an email to his publicist. While the show's panellist Maisie Adam's use of the word was deemed justified as it referenced the alleged use by Sir David, the ECU found no editorial justification for Ryan's subsequent comment about Victoria Beckham.

During the show, Ryan appeared to link an obscene term to the fashion designer. The ECU's ruling stated, "There was no such justification for a comment which presented Victoria Beckham as equivalent to a particularly offensive word."

Katherine Ryan later addressed the incident on social media, attributing it to her state as a new mother. She explained that at the time of recording, she was caring for a ten-day-old baby and described the remark as a "stupid joke" made in jest. She also shared a screenshot of a message sent to Victoria Beckham to clarify that no harm was intended.
