Uma Thurman Returns to Dexter Franchise for Season 2 Premiere

Actress Uma Thurman made a notable appearance at the Dexter 20th anniversary celebrations held in New York on Thursday night. Thurman, 56, was present for the season two premiere of the Paramount+ series "Dexter: Resurrection," in which she reprises her role as Charley.

The "Kill Bill" star attended the event, which also served as the season two premiere, looking elegant in a blazer dress that highlighted her figure. She complemented her outfit with sheer tights, silver jewelry, and a clutch bag.

In "Dexter: Resurrection" season two, Thurman will return as Charley, a former Special Ops officer. Her character in season one was the Head of Security for tech billionaire and serial killer enthusiast Leon Prater, portrayed by Peter Dinklage. The first season concluded with Charley being betrayed by Prater and fleeing to New York.

The upcoming season will also feature the debut of Brian Cox, known for his role in "Succession." Michael C. Hall is set to return as forensics expert Dexter. Cox will play Dom Framt, a retired serial killer known as the "New York Ripper."

The series synopsis indicates that Dexter Morgan will be caught between two killers in season two, facing his own mid-life crisis. Dexter's son, Harrison, played by Jack Alcott, will continue his own pursuit of justice.

Joining the cast in new roles for season two are Dan Stevens, Emmy Award winner Bokeem Woodbine, and Nona Parker Johnson. Several cast members from the first season, including Jack Alcott, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine, Kadia Sarif, Dominic Fumusa, and James Remar, are also returning.

Michael C. Hall's return as Dexter was confirmed at San Diego Comic Con. He previously reprised his role as the inner voice of Dexter in "Dexter: Original Sin," which aired in 2025 and focused on the character's early career. Chris McCarthy, Paramount Global Co-CEO and President, has expressed enthusiasm for Hall's continued involvement, stating that "Dexter: Resurrection" will appeal to long-time fans while "Dexter: Original Sin" aims to introduce the franchise to a new generation.
