Kevin "Noodles" Wasserman, guitarist for the band The Offspring, has announced he is stepping away from live performances due to a "sudden and fairly serious health issue." Wasserman, 63, shared the news via an Instagram post, stating that he needs to focus on recovery.

"The rest of the band has my back, is super supportive, and will keep rocking you all in my absence," Wasserman wrote. "I hope to be back on stage sooner rather than later." He added, "Until then, I will miss all of you with all of my heart. Thanks for keeping me in your thoughts. I really appreciate it."

The band, formed in 1984 in Garden Grove, California, is known for its '90s hits such as "Pretty Fly (For A White Guy)" and "The Kids Aren't Alright." Wasserman, a founding member alongside vocalist Bryan "Dexter" Holland, bassist Greg "K" Kriesel, and drummer James Lilja, last performed with The Offspring in San Diego on October 18.

The band has several November dates scheduled, including a headline performance at the iHeartRadio ALTer Ego 2027 festival in Los Angeles on January 16.

Fellow musicians and fans have expressed their support for Wasserman. Pierre Bouvier of Simple Plan sent well wishes, calling Wasserman a "legend." Jim Lindberg, frontman of Pennywise, and the band Garbage also shared messages of encouragement. Professional skateboarder Steve Caballero added his hopes for a swift recovery.

Fans have flooded the comments on Wasserman's post with messages of love and strength.
