‘The Gilded Age’ Cast Announces Holiday Album, Releases First Single

The cast of HBO’s historical drama The Gilded Age is releasing a holiday album titled Voices of The Gilded Age: The Christmas Album, Concord Theatricals Recordings announced. The album is scheduled for release on November 6.

The first single from the album, an original song by Desmond Child called "The World Needs Some Christmas," is now available on streaming platforms and is performed by actor Ben Ahlers, who portrays character Jack Trotter.

The album features a collection of holiday songs performed by various members of the show's ensemble cast, which includes Christine Baranski, Audra McDonald, Donna Murphy, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Kelli O’Hara, Carrie Coon, and Denée Benton, among others. The tracklist includes renditions of traditional carols like "It’s The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year," "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas," and "O Holy Night," alongside original compositions.

This project marks the cast’s first-ever Christmas record. Previous cast members like Baranski, McDonald, Murphy, Mitchell, and O’Hara have backgrounds in musical theater.

The Gilded Age, created by Julian Fellowes, follows the lives of the wealthy elite in New York City during the late 19th century. The series was renewed for a second season on HBO and HBO Max. Season 2 premiered on October 29, 2023.
