The Feeling's triple-platinum debut album, "Twelve Stops and Home," was recorded in a shed in Horsham, according to frontman Dan Gillespie Sells. The revelation comes as the album marks its 20th anniversary, a milestone Gillespie Sells noted in an interview with BBC Radio Sussex, reflecting on a time before ubiquitous smartphones when physical music sales were dominant.

Much of the album's recording took place at the Sussex home of brothers and bandmates Kevin and Ciaran Jeremiah. Gillespie Sells described the space not as a formal studio, but as "an outhouse" with brick walls, essentially functioning as a shed in the Jeremiah brothers' parents' garden in Horsham. He explained that the band utilized borrowed microphones and a rudimentary computer built by Kevin to capture the recordings, characterizing the process as "basically just hanging out together."

Gillespie Sells, who is not originally from Sussex, spent his teenage years in the county after meeting his future bandmates at the Brit School. The band initially developed their sound in Ashdown Forest before beginning their recording sessions in Sussex.

To commemorate the album's 20th anniversary, The Feeling is set to perform "Twelve Stops and Home" in its entirety during a tour that includes dates in Eastbourne and Margate in November.
