The electronic music duo The Chainsmokers have ignited public anger for comments made following a concert in San Jose, California, where 14 attendees were hospitalized. The San Jose Police Department reported that the hospitalizations were due to various issues, including suspected alcohol intoxication and drug-related concerns.

Following the event, the band posted on Instagram about the show, describing it as "chaos" and humorously noting they would "bring a louder horn next time." This post did not mention the hospitalizations. Critics quickly pointed out the perceived insensitivity of the band's remarks.

In response to backlash, The Chainsmokers addressed the hospitalizations, suggesting they were primarily due to excessive alcohol consumption. "Some kids drank too much apparently," the group commented, adding, "Everyone is fine."

They further stated that such incidents are common at concerts and questioned why media outlets were making a story out of it. "We saw the articles day after and asked the event organizers if anything happened and they told us nothing out of the ordinary for a concert…. Seems like media succeeded in making a story but everyone is fine," the band wrote.

Emergency medical services were reportedly called to the venue, Discovery Meadow, shortly after the opening act began. The concert, which started at 5 p.m., concluded by 10:34 p.m. According to reports, paramedics treated some individuals at the park, with at least 10 people being transported to local hospitals.
