Taylor Swift delivered a deeply emotional and "special" 20-minute wedding vow to her husband, Travis Kelce, which reportedly left the NFL star in tears, according to sources speaking to People.
During the ceremony held at Madison Square Garden, Swift recounted how Kelce, even in high school, was known for his kindness. "Taylor talked about how Travis was the guy in high school who, even though he was the star athlete, would go sit with the less-popular kids who were being bullied at lunchtime," an insider told People. Swift reportedly expressed a wish that she had known someone like that during her own high school years.
Kelce was described as being "very emotional" throughout the vows, with one guest noting that it was the groom, rather than the bride, who appeared more tearful. Swift herself became emotional when Kelce "promised to protect her forever," according to the Daily Mail.
The Kansas City Chiefs star reportedly appeared nervous as he professed his love to the Grammy winner in front of approximately 1,000 guests but managed to maintain his composure. "Good Morning America" co-host George Stephanopoulos, an attendee, described the vows as "everything you would hope for. Real, vulnerable, serious and silly, deeply loving."
Journalist Robin Roberts, also present, characterized the Madison Square Garden ceremony as "really intimate," noting that the couple had invited their high school friends and neighbors, making it feel personal despite the venue's size. Stephanopoulos echoed this sentiment, stating, "It’s hard to imagine a place that big and a wedding with such stars could feel so personal."
Comedian Adam Sandler, who officiated the wedding, offered the newlyweds marriage advice to "kiss every chance" they get. Chiefs coach Andy Reid shared Sandler's advice, calling it "pretty good advice, in its simplest form."
The couple, who got engaged in August 2025, reportedly gifted guests embroidered handkerchiefs featuring the location and date of the nuptials. Attendees at the star-studded event included Selena Gomez, Gigi Hadid, Jennifer Lopez, Bradley Cooper, Tom Brady, and Machine Gun Kelly.
Reports had previously circulated that Swift and Kelce might have already been legally married, with rumors suggesting a private ceremony in Tennessee.
