Sunday Rose Kidman-Urban, the 18-year-old daughter of actors Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban, has addressed the 'nepo baby' label in her first cover story for Vogue Germany.
In the interview, the high school student acknowledged the advantages her famous parents have provided. "I’m very aware that I’m given opportunities that not everyone can have, and I’m truly grateful to be able to take advantage of them," she stated. She added that during her work, she strives to maintain a positive attitude and treat everyone with respect, regardless of fatigue or jet lag.
This is not the first time Sunday Rose has entered the public eye. She had a minor role in the 2019 series Big Little Lies and attended the Met Gala at age 17. Her modeling career, which began at 16, has also drawn attention. She walked in the Dior show during Paris Fashion Week in July 2024, shortly before her 18th birthday.
Her mother, Nicole Kidman, celebrated Sunday Rose's 18th birthday with an Instagram post featuring childhood photos. Kidman wrote, "Happy 18th my angel, you couldn’t be more loved." Reese Witherspoon, Kidman's co-star in Big Little Lies, also sent birthday wishes.
The milestone birthday followed the finalization of Kidman and Urban's divorce in January 2024, after 19 years of marriage. Court documents revealed an agreement for shared custody, with Kidman receiving approximately 306 days per year and Urban 59 days.
Earlier in 2024, Sunday Rose made her Met Gala debut alongside Kidman, who was a co-chair of the event. Reports had circulated that Sunday Rose and her 15-year-old sister, Faith Margaret, had unfollowed their father on Instagram, with speculation suggesting tension due to Urban's rumored relationship with singer Karley Scott Collins. Sources indicated that the daughters were prioritizing their mother and adjusting to the changes in their family structure.
Sunday Rose's modeling debut at the Miu Miu show at Paris Fashion Week in October 2024 also garnered online criticism. Comments focused on her appearance and perceived lack of modeling aptitude, with some users questioning why she was pursuing a career in fashion. Kidman, who faced similar criticism early in her own career, expressed understanding of the sentiment but also acknowledged her upset over the comments directed at her daughter.
