The Peacock Theater in Los Angeles played host to a night of daring styles and memorable red carpet moments.
The 2026 MTV Video Music Awards red carpet saw celebrities embrace daring and eclectic fashion choices on Sunday. The event, held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, marked the first time the awards show returned to the West Coast in nine years.
In contrast to the more traditional attire seen at the recent Emmys, the VMA red carpet was a showcase for bold fashion risks. Attendees sported a variety of eye-catching looks, including leopard print, shirts emblazoned with "Madonna," and vibrant red Adidas shoes.
Snoop Dogg, who hosted the ceremony, expressed his enthusiasm for returning to the VMAs. "MTV and the VMAs have been part of my story since the beginning," he said in a statement. "Some of the biggest moments of my career happened on that stage and on MTV — they gave hip hop a place to be loud, fearless and seen by the whole world. So to come back now and host the VMAs, all these years later, that’s a full-circle moment for me."
Expectations were high for a potential red carpet appearance by Taylor Swift, which would have been her first since her July wedding to Travis Kelce. Swift was a notable contender with nine nominations, second only to Madonna's 11.
