Spanish Zombie Sequel "Apocalypse Z: New World" Arrives on Amazon Prime Video
The follow-up to the 2019 film "Apocalypse Z: The Beginning of the End" premieres October 30.
The zombie apocalypse continues on Amazon Prime Video with the release of "Apocalypse Z: New World," the sequel to the Spanish-language hit "Apocalypse Z: The Beginning of the End." The new film, directed by Carles Torrens and written by Ángel Agudo, is based on Manel Loureiro's post-apocalyptic novels.
"Apocalypse Z: New World" picks up after the outbreak of the TSJ virus, which transforms infected individuals into aggressive zombies. The story follows a new cast of characters, including Carlos Alcaide, Julia Martínez, Mónica López, Tamara Casellas, and Santiago Vaca Narvaja, who are sheltering in the Canary Islands, one of Europe's last remaining refuges. The plot centers on a mission of special operatives who venture off-island in search of supplies, accompanied by an untrusted outsider named Roberto.
The film is set to stream exclusively on Amazon Prime Video starting Friday, October 30, 2026. Prime subscribers can access the movie at no additional cost. For those without a subscription, Amazon offers a 30-day free trial of Amazon Prime, which includes Prime Video and other benefits. Following the trial, Amazon Prime costs $14.99 per month or $139 annually. A discounted rate is available for young adults aged 18-24.
"Apocalypse Z: New World" will become available at 12 a.m. Pacific Time and 3 a.m. Eastern Time on Friday, October 30. This release time aligns with the movie's listing on Prime Video, which indicates "coming soon – October 30, 3:00 AM."
The movie will not be available for rent or purchase separately and will not be offered on other streaming platforms like Netflix, as it is an Amazon Studios original.
