Sam Fender Tour Ticket Pre-Sale Delayed Due to Bot Attack
The musician postponed the presale for his homecoming shows after a 'sophisticated bot attack' impacted a ticketing website, aiming to ensure genuine fans could purchase tickets.
The pre-sale for Sam Fender's upcoming shows at St. James' Park in Newcastle has been rescheduled following a "sophisticated bot attack" that affected a ticketing website. The sale, originally planned for Wednesday, was moved back 24 hours to 9:30 GMT on Thursday, according to a statement from the musician.
Fender, 32, shared on Instagram that the ticketing platform Gigantic experienced the bot attack, which prompted the delay to ensure that "real fans get the tickets." Gigantic, which is handling general sale tickets for Friday, has been contacted for comment.
This incident follows a recent decision by Fender to remove a ticket category from sale due to concerns over fan costs, which he stated were beyond his control. The musician announced his "Proper Massive Stadium Tour" last week, with dates scheduled in Newcastle, Cardiff, London, Edinburgh, Dublin, and Manchester in the summer of 2027.
While Fender did not specify if other venues were affected by the bot attack, a source indicated to the BBC that purchasing tickets for the London show did not encounter any issues. The musician is from North Shields.
