Sam Fender Criticizes High Ticket Prices for Upcoming Tour

Sam Fender has expressed his dissatisfaction with the anticipated high ticket prices for his recently announced "Proper Massive Stadium Tour," vowing to ensure costs are reduced. The tour is scheduled to include stops in Newcastle, Cardiff, London, Edinburgh, Dublin, and Manchester during the summer of 2027.

Fans began speculating about ticket pricing on social media before they officially went on sale. One social media user suggested that tickets for standing room at Wembley Stadium could range from £98.85 to £130.75, with seated tickets priced between £64.75 and £130.75. The same user also indicated that standing tickets might be divided into "front standing" and regular standing sections.

Responding to these reports, Fender stated, "They're getting changed. It got inflated well more than I'd had in mind, it should only be inflated in relation to the cost of putting the show on." He also addressed the proposed split of standing areas, adding, "The standing will not be split as well, I had no idea about it. I have no idea how this was normalised in gigs. It's bo****ks and it won't be happening on this tour."

Fender's comments were met with appreciation from fans online, who thanked him for addressing the issue and taking action to influence pricing. Many commented that artists have the power to affect ticket costs and praised Fender for his stance.

Fans can gain access to a presale for UK and Irish dates by pre-ordering Fender's fourth album from his official store before 9 a.m. GMT on Monday, October 26. A unique presale code and link will be emailed by 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27, with the ticket presale opening on Wednesday, October 28, at 9:30 a.m. Ticket purchases are limited to six per person, and presale access does not guarantee tickets.

In other recent news, Fender and Olivia Dean set a chart record earlier this year when their song "Run Me In" became the longest-running No. 1 single by a British act, surpassing Wet Wet Wet's "Love Is All Around" from 1994 after a 16-week run. Fender described the song's success as "ridiculous" and credited Dean with making the track "universal."
