Ross Kemp's Outburst Delights Fans on Celebrity Traitors

Fans of Celebrity Traitors were captivated by actor Ross Kemp's fervent response upon discovering Richard E. Grant was a Traitor. The EastEnders star, 62, audibly expressed his excitement by pounding the table and exclaiming "get in there!" as Grant's true identity was revealed during Thursday night's episode.

Viewers took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to share their amusement at Kemp's enthusiastic reaction. Comments highlighted Kemp's performance, with one user stating, "Please give whoever booked Ross Kemp for this a raise #CelebrityTraitors," while another remarked, "Another day, another 10/10 Ross Kemp moment."

Richard E. Grant's banishment marked the first elimination of the season. The episode continued from a previous cliffhanger where the celebrity contestants debated Grant's status as a Faithful or a Traitor. Grant himself had inadvertently revealed his Traitor status by admitting it openly to fellow contestant Joe Lycett.

Following a decisive vote where Grant received 16 out of 20 votes, he was banished. "I have always wanted to be a Traitor, as you know. Sometimes in life your dreams do come true, and sometimes they don't," Grant told the group before confirming, "I am an unfaithful Traitor!" He later reflected to the camera, "I've been annihilated. I have managed to checkmate myself, which, as far as I'm aware, has never been done!"

Host Claudia Winkleman announced to the remaining contestants, "This has never happened before. Your first try and you’ve got one!"

Fans expressed a mixture of amusement and disappointment at Grant's early departure. Many joked about his being "the worst Traitor in history" due to his uncharacteristic confession. "I am genuinely heartbroken for Richard E Grant he was SO buzzin to be a traitor," one user wrote. Another commented, "I'm sad for Richard going this early, he was having the best time. But when you mess up that badly the result is always going to be inevitable."

Grant's slip-up occurred when he was directly asked his role by Joe Lycett. "What are you?" Lycett inquired, to which Grant responded with a grin, "A Traitor." Lycett noted the unprecedented nature of the confession, stating, "I think you've just done something that has never happened in the game... bold strategy." This confession set the stage for a tense round table discussion and his eventual banishment.
