Romesh Ranganathan Reflects on 'Incredible' Celebrity Traitors Victory

Romesh Ranganathan has broken his silence on his victory in Celebrity Traitors, describing the experience as "full-on" and admitting he "walked a thin line between a great game and a terrible one." The comedian was crowned champion alongside actor Sebastian Croft in the show's finale.

Speaking on his BBC Radio 2 show, Ranganathan reflected on the immersive nature of the competition, where trust was constantly tested. He revealed there were moments he feared he would be "murdered" by the Traitors, recalling a specific instance in the crypt where he felt he had exposed himself at the roundtable. He also mentioned the shield challenge, where a misstep led him to believe he was a target for elimination.

Despite the intense pressure, Ranganathan expressed his disbelief and joy at winning, calling the experience "incredible." He shared a moment where he knew he and Croft had won before their partner did, contemplating keeping it a secret for a short while.

The final episode of Celebrity Traitors drew 11.2 million viewers, making it the most-watched show of 2026. Ranganathan and Croft each won £41,500 for their chosen charities: Choose Love for Croft and the Refugee Council for Ranganathan.

Reflecting on his partnership with Croft, Ranganathan stated that trusting him was the right decision and highlighted their friendship as a key highlight of his time on the show. Croft, in turn, described the win as "incredible" and possibly the "best day of his life," with the moment Ranganathan confirmed him as a "Faithful" being a significant highlight.

Earlier in the series, fellow Traitors Maya Jama and King Kenny went largely undetected until James Acaster revealed his own Traitor status. Michael Sheen was murdered by Jama and Kenny at the beginning of the final episode. The finale also featured a heated exchange between Maya Jama and James Blunt at the final roundtable, before King Kenny ultimately betrayed Jama by voting for her.

In separate comments made before the final aired, Ranganathan had playfully referred to himself as a "national treasure" while testing new comedy material. He also noted that his win coincided with Arsenal being confirmed as Premier League champions, calling it a "hell of a night."
