Ring doorbell footage released to the media shows Thomas Skinner at the doorstep of a former lover’s home, where the woman says he begged her to let him in and tried to force his way onto the property after she ended an affair.
Amy‑Lucy O’Rourke, 35, an aesthetician and mother of one, told the Daily Mail that the footage captured Skinner, 34, outside her house near Brentwood, Essex, for roughly a minute and a half. She said he continued to knock and shout despite her telling him not to speak to her and that he attempted to push through the door when she opened it to refuse him entry. She says she later smashed the windscreen of his parked Mercedes.
O’Rourke said the confrontation followed a months‑long relationship she says began in the summer of 2022, weeks after Skinner married his wife, Sinead, in May of that year. According to O’Rourke, Skinner told her the marriage was one of convenience and that he was unhappy; she says she ended the relationship in July 2022 after discovering he had not been honest.
In her account, Skinner reacted badly to the break‑up, sending a string of text messages calling her a “crazy lady” and “insane.” She provided video clips she said show the pair together on multiple occasions and said he had adopted behaviours she described as boyfriend‑like, such as cooking for her and taking her car to be repaired. She also said Skinner told her he loved her and messaged, “Good night, beautiful,” six weeks after his wedding.
Skinner has publicly sought to downplay the relationship. In an interview published by The Sun on Sunday, he described the episode as a “two‑week fling,” called it “a mistake” and said he felt “absolutely terrible” about it, adding that he had told his wife. That characterization is disputed by O’Rourke, who said she was the one who revealed the relationship to Sinead and that Skinner continued to maintain conflicting accounts to both women.
Skinner first came to public attention as a finalist on the BBC series The Apprentice in 2017. He is scheduled to make his debut on the BBC entertainment show Strictly Come Dancing this coming Saturday. The claims and the footage emerged in the days before his appearance on the programme.
The footage provided by O’Rourke shows Skinner making hand gestures toward a camera and shouting at an upstairs window as she refuses to answer the door. In the recorded interaction, O’Rourke tells him her son is asleep and urges him to leave. According to her account, the exchanges continued after the relationship ended, with repeated messages and confrontations.
O’Rourke told the Daily Mail she felt misled and emotionally distressed by what she described as a pattern of lying and manipulation. “He told me I was the love of his life and sold me an absolute dream,” she said. “He told me that he was in a loveless relationship of convenience.” She added that, once she learned the marriage was not the sham she had been told, she ended the relationship.
In support of her account, O’Rourke supplied video clips in which Skinner appears to be affectionate and attentive, including one in which he fashions a rose from a napkin. She said those recordings contradict his later public statements that their involvement was brief and insignificant.
Representatives for Skinner did not provide further comment beyond his interview with The Sun. The material and interviews were supplied to the Daily Mail by O’Rourke, who said she wanted the record corrected after seeing Skinner’s comments to other outlets.
The developments add to the public scrutiny of a media figure who has cultivated a convivial, family‑man image since his time on reality television. The conflicting narratives ensure the episode will be part of the public attention surrounding Skinner’s forthcoming television appearance, as viewers and media outlets assess his on‑ and off‑screen persona.
