Review: Mojo Brookzz's Netflix Special 'I Know You Lying' Falls Short

Comedian Dyon “Mojo” Brooks, known for his role on Tyler Perry’s ‘Miss Governor’ and appearances on ‘Wild ‘N Out,’ makes his Netflix debut with ‘Mojo Brookzz: I Know You Lying.’ The special, recorded in December 2025 at Atlanta’s Center Stage Theatre, showcases Brookzz’s broad social media following, which includes millions across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. He also previously appeared on Variety’s 10 Comics To Watch list for 2025.

The special features jokes on a range of topics, from the complexities of oral sex to accompanying his niece to a sex shop. Brookzz also touches on his grandmother's dementia and offers observations on dating older women versus younger women, humorously noting that neither demographic is safe from the performances of Usher or Chris Brown.

Brooks’s set begins with lighthearted material about his career and early experiences in Hollywood before delving into explicit sexual humor. A significant portion of the special is dedicated to jokes about squirting, with Brookzz even referencing civil rights icon Rosa Parks in this context. He also discusses his preferences and complaints regarding sexual encounters.

Later in the special, Brookzz shifts to a more personal anecdote about his grandmother’s struggles with dementia, contrasting moments of her recognizing his success with instances where he must play along with her confusion. This is followed by a return to sexually explicit material, including a story about shopping for a phallic object at a sex shop with his niece.

The review notes the jarring tonal shifts within the 47-minute special. While Brookzz’s catchphrase is “we listen and we don’t judge,” the reviewer finds it difficult to apply this principle to the comedian’s onstage choices. The special’s opening act features Brookzz in a red leather suit, a deliberate choice that invites comparisons to Eddie Murphy’s iconic ‘Delirious’ special. However, the review suggests Brookzz falls short of such comparisons, regardless of how outrageous his material attempts to be.

Ultimately, ‘Mojo Brookzz: I Know You Lying’ is deemed a ‘SKIP IT’ by the reviewer. While acknowledging Brookzz’s appreciation for his current success, the special’s content is not seen as a significant step toward elevating his career to the next level.
